Prepare to hoist the sails and dive into epic pirate battles with Rum & Bones: Second Tide! Inspired by MOBA games, this board game puts you in command of legendary pirate heroes, each with unique abilities, in a fierce contest for Davy Jones' treasure. Instead of controlling a single character, you manage a crew of up to five heroes, moving them across the board to destroy crucial objectives on enemy ships. Victory is achieved by completing these destruction missions.
But don't worry, your heroes aren't alone! The crew, composed of deckhands and bosuns, operates with simple AI to wreak havoc on the enemy team. The main goal? Amass Davy Jones' mythical pieces of eight, which serve as currency to unleash devastating attacks and special abilities, ensuring supremacy over your rivals.
Rum & Bones: Second Tide offers two distinct factions: the mysterious Deep Lords, seeking to flood the world, and the Marea de la Muerte, pirates thirsty for gold. Each hero belongs to one of five classes: Captains (support), Brutes (tanks), Gunners (ranged damage), Swashbucklers (melee damage), and Quartermasters (utility and healing). The game introduces a dynamic 'level up' system where heroes earn coins by defeating enemies and completing objectives, using them to buy and upgrade skills. The alternating activation of heroes and crews ensures a constant flow of action and strategy. With a modular board and a ton of miniatures, immersion is guaranteed for those who enjoy tactical combat with a touch of fantasy and piracy.
