About the game

What you do in a play session

Russian Railroads: German Railroads is the first expansion for Russian Railroads and requires the base game to play. It adds three completely independent modules, letting you use any combination of them. The Germany board module introduces a brand‑new map with variable distances, meaning no route is set in stone and a whole new strategic landscape opens up. The Coal Age module brings coal into the mix; you can burn it in foundries for extra income or use it as heat to boost locomotives and factories, shaking up the usual tactics. The Single Ticket module provides an official solo mode where a dummy opponent occupies key spots and tries to block your scoring, making solo play much more challenging. New components – engineers, an extra factory, tokens and cards – are also included and work with all other Russian Railroads expansions. In short, German Railroads deepens the strategic options, adds a fresh resource, and supplies a solid solo experience without steepening the learning curve.
