Step by step
Game Objective
In Sagrada: Panorama, players are artisans working to create stained glass windows. The goal is to plan ahead using dice on your personal Lightboard and then place them on your window, following placement restrictions. Players score points based on dice values in specific spaces on their window (Focal Point Private Objectives) and also collaborate with neighboring artisans to achieve shared goals (Panorama Shared Objectives). The game is a race to accumulate as many Victory Points as possible, though the exact win condition and loss criteria are not detailed in the provided context.
Setup
Setting up Sagrada: Panorama involves some additions and modifications to the standard Sagrada rules:
- Modules: The game includes three modules: Focal Point Private Objectives, Lightboards, and Panorama Shared Objectives. You can mix and match them.
- Window Pattern Cards: The new Window Pattern Cards (marked with a symbol) can be shuffled with those from the base game.
- Focal Point Private Objectives (Module):
- Shuffle the 6 Focal Point Private Objectives and secretly deal one face-down to each player. Do not use the base game's Private Objectives. This module is mandatory for 6-player games.
- Lightboards (Module):
- Remove the Glazing Hammer and Running Pliers tool cards from the base game, as they are incompatible with this module.
- The Lightboard Tool Cards (marked with a symbol) are only used with Lightboards. Shuffle them with the remaining base game tool cards.
- Each player receives a Lightboard and 2 dice of each color (10 dice total). Players roll their 10 dice and place them on any spaces of their Lightboard.
- Dice Bag Setup: Adjust the number of dice in the Dice Bag as follows:
- 2 players: 6 of each color (30 total)
- 3 players: 8 of each color (40 total)
- 4 players: 10 of each color (50 total)
- 5 players: 12 of each color (60 total)
- 6 players: All remaining 70 dice
- Panorama Shared Objectives (Module):
- This module can only be played in games with 3 or more players.
- Use only 1 Public Objective from the base game (instead of 3).
- Shuffle the 6 Panorama Objectives and deal 1 to each player (place the rest back in the box).
- Each player then places this card between themselves and the player to their right. Every player should have a Panorama Objective card shared between themselves and each of their right and left neighbors.
Game Flow
The game progresses in rounds, with each player taking one turn per round.
- Dice Pool Formation (with Lightboards): Each round, draw only 1 die per player + 1 additional die to form the Dice Pool.
- 2 players: 3 dice
- 3 players: 4 dice
- 4 players: 5 dice
- 5 players: 6 dice
- 6 players: 7 dice
- Player Turns: Starting with the Start Player, each player takes one turn in clockwise order. Turns do not reverse direction as in the base game.
- End of Round: Once all players have completed their turn, the round ends. Players do not take a second turn per round.
Actions and How to Play
On your turn, you may perform each of the following actions once, in any order. Each action is optional—you may take one, two, all three, or none and pass your turn. Most often, you will place one die from the Dice Pool and one from your Lightboard each turn.
- Select and Place a Die from the Lightboard: Select 1 die from your Lightboard, keeping its value, and place it on an open space on your window, following all normal placement restrictions.
- Select and Place a Die from the Dice Pool: Select 1 die from the Dice Pool and place it on an open space on your window as usual.
- Use a Tool Card: Use 1 Tool Card by spending Favor Tokens as usual. You only get one opportunity per round to use a Tool Card.
- Tool Card Clarification: When a Sagrada Tool Card refers to "taking" a die, that die must be taken from the Dice Pool (not your Lightboard).
- Lightboard Tool Card Examples:
- GATE: Return 2 dice from your Lightboard to the bag.
- LEAD CAME ROLLER: Reroll 1 or 2 dice on your Lightboard.
- LEAD CAME NIPPERS: After taking a die, swap it with a die from your Lightboard.
- STRIP CUTTER: Take 2 dice from the bag, roll them, and place them on your Lightboard.
- Die Placement: All Sagrada die placement rules and requirements apply, whether placing dice from the Dice Pool or your Lightboard.
End of Game and Scoring
For the endgame and scoring, follow standard Sagrada rules with the following additions and modifications:
- Focal Point Private Objectives: When you would normally reveal your Private Objective, reveal your Focal Point Private Objective card. Then, score points based on the values of dice on your board in the shaded spaces indicated on your card. If a shaded space has no die, you score no points for that space. Dice remaining on your Lightboard do not affect your score.
- Panorama Shared Objectives:
- Score points for you and your neighbor achieving the goal on your shared card. You and that neighbor will always score the same number of points for that card.
- Scoring is shown in the format "3/7/16 points for 4/3/2 colors," which can be read as "3 points for 4 colors, 7 points for 3 colors, or 16 points for 2 colors."
- When scoring the card to your right, only look at the rightmost column on your board and the leftmost column of your neighbor's board (the player to your right) to determine your score for that card.
- Similarly, score the card to your left by looking only at the leftmost column on your board and the rightmost column belonging to the player to your left.
- Neighboring Columns: The columns shared between you and the neighbor on that side (if the card is to your left, it's your leftmost column and the rightmost column of the player to your left, etc.).
- Neighboring Pair: Dice in Neighboring Columns that are also in the same row (e.g., both in the top row).
Tips to Win
- Planning with Lightboards: Lightboards add more planning and individual strategy. Use them to organize your dice and anticipate future moves, especially considering placement restrictions.
- Coordination with Neighbors (3+ players): If using the Panorama Shared Objectives module, you'll need to coordinate and collaborate with your neighbors to achieve shared goals. These objectives are designed to be unattainable alone.
- Focus on Private Objectives: Focal Point Private Objectives change how you focus on your own window, requiring careful balancing with other objectives. Prioritize dice values in the shaded spaces on your card to maximize your personal score.
