About the game
In the wake of the Great War, Europe teeters on the brink of a new era: the economy is booming, morale is high and defenses are strong, yet rumors of glowing‑eyed soldiers drift from the countryside. Scythe: The Rise of Fenris caps the expansion trilogy and offers two ways to play, suitable for those with just the base game (1‑5 players) or those who also own Invaders from Afar (up to 7). The first path is an eight‑episode campaign that continues Scythe’s story and concludes it with surprises, permanent unlocks and elements that can be reset for fresh runs. The second option provides 11 modular modules that can be mixed‑and‑matched, including a fully cooperative module, and they work with every prior Scythe expansion. Physical components include a detailed episodic guidebook, 13 plastic miniatures, 62 wooden tokens, 2 custom dice, 25 tiles and over 100 cardboard tokens. Core mechanics—area majority, campaign/battle cards, variable player powers—remain, but gain new narrative depth and a cooperative twist. The result is a blend of heavy strategy, territory building and resource management wrapped in a storyline that unfolds over multiple sessions, all while preserving the replayability that made Scythe a beloved classic.
