About the game
What you do in a play session
Sentinels of the Multiverse: Villains of the Multiverse is the expansion that brings the dark side’s true power to your deck. Instead of each villain appearing solo, the new set gathers ten characters with unique powers and puts them into combat teams. Each villain team has a goal: bring down the hero squad that has hunted them for generations. To do this, the players who take on the villains must coordinate their attack, defense, and trick cards, while the heroes try to stop the threat from succeeding. The team dynamic makes cooperation essential for both sides, creating battle scenarios where strategies shift every turn.
In addition to combat, the expansion adds four new environments that can be used in any Sentinels game. These settings range from tech labs to ruined megacities, offering new location cards and rule modifiers that change the flow of play. Each environment brings specific challenges—gravity effects, movement restrictions, and more—that force players to adapt on the fly.
The game keeps the same card mechanics as the base, with hand management and variable player powers. Each villain receives abilities that evolve over time, letting players experiment with different card combos each game. Cooperation is kept through cards that require joint actions, such as chain attacks or area blockers. The learning curve is moderate, as you need to remember each villain’s card pool, but the fun comes from blending strategies and creating epic battle narratives.
If you’ve enjoyed Sentinels of the Multiverse and want more challenges with villains that unite, this expansion is what you’ve been missing. It’s perfect for groups that love cooperative narratives and exploring new combat situations. Build your deck, pick your villain team, and be ready to change the story’s course.
