Ever felt the frustration of being pushed into the shadows? In Shadow Kingdoms of Valeria, that's exactly where you start. For ages, humans, elves, and dwarves have encroached upon your lands, slaughtering your kind in the name of 'progress'. They built their citadels and keeps, thinking they had won. They were wrong. Now, it's your turn to rally the darkness and bring about the reign of the Shadow Kingdoms!
You play as a Warden, a leader hungry for the total destruction of Valeria. To win, you must outsmart your fellow Wardens and earn the right to command the most formidable army. Your journey takes you to dark Shrines, where you'll gather the resources needed to fuel your war machine: minions, magic, gems, and gold.
The game's core revolves around five distinct troop types, each represented by a specific die color: Goblins (green), Orcs (red), Skeletons (white), Gargoyles (purple), and Gnolls (brown). The strategy lies in how you move your Warden and which dice you draft from the Shrines. Once you've gathered your forces, you'll head to the Camp on your player board to resolve battle plans. By effectively using your minion dice, you'll conquer lands and rack up Victory Points on the Campaign board.
It's a tight race of resource management and tactical positioning. You'll need to balance the acquisition of magic and gold with the deployment of your monsters to ensure your dominance. If you love the idea of leading a monstrous horde to tear down civilized citadels while competing against other aspiring dark lords, this is the game for you. Rally your troops, outwit your rivals, and let the Shadow Kingdoms rise!
