Shallow Regrets: The Fisher & the Frod is a six‑card solo expansion that brings the beloved Frod into a fishing contest. If you’ve enjoyed fishing with your friend Frod in the base game, now you can test who really rules the waters. The concept is simple: the player and Frod compete in turns, each using a layout of exhausted fish in a column and available fish in a row. On Frod’s turn, he always uses an ability from the previous turn’s strategy card, if possible, and then reveals a new card to guide his decisions. He then fishes for the largest fish he can with his available strength and finally moves a fish from one shoal to another. Scoring follows the core game rules, except Frod never takes a penalty for a foul fish, keeping the pace light. The expansion offers multiple difficulty levels, ensuring that both novice and veteran anglers find a challenge. Since Frod’s deck is separate, you simply shuffle the six additional cards and play by the core rules. The game lasts about 15 minutes, making it perfect for quick sessions and meet‑ups. Additionally, as a Print & Play, you can print and assemble the cards at home, but you’ll need a translated spreadsheet or pre‑translated cards to play in Portuguese. In short, if you love the fishing mechanics of Shallow Regrets and want a quick solo challenge, The Fisher & the Frod expansion delivers fast fun, light strategy, and a dash of humor with Frod trying to prove he’s the best angler.
