The premise is that after the Infinity Engine was destroyed, reality-warping shards rained down, messing everything up and altering the world forever. This expansion introduces 'Relics,' super-powerful cards that only the leaders of the four factions can wield once they reach 10 Mastery points. Upon reaching this threshold, you claim one of the two available Relics, with the other vanishing into the mists of time. But that's not all! There are also cards usable by any player, but which gain a massive boost when combined with your faction leader. And for those who love variety, the expansion also unlocks three new ways to play: 'Bloodbath' for 3 players, where damage hits all opponents; 'Team Attack' 2v2, for those who enjoy playing in pairs; and a full solo mode, 'Nemesis,' to face the game alone against a challenge controlled by the game itself.
