About the game
Sorry! (known in Brazil as Chispa! or Com Licença!) is a classic offshoot of Ludo/Pachisi that swaps dice for a deck of action cards. Each player controls four tokens that start in a home base and must reach their own finish, either circling the board clockwise or moving backward when a card allows. The cards dictate everything: move forward X spaces, move back, exit the start, swap places with an opponent, or, in the iconic "Sorry!" card, replace an opponent's token on the board and send it back to its start. The board features colored "slides"; if your token lands on the start of a slide of a different colour, it slides to the end, kicking any token in its path back to start. The game can be played purely by chance, drawing one card each turn, or in the more strategic variant recommended in the rules, where each player holds five cards and chooses which to play, replenishing the hand after each turn. This version adds decision‑making and reduces luck, enabling combos like using the "11" card to swap spots or the "‑4" to retreat into the safety zone faster. With a quick 30‑minute playtime, simple rules, and plenty of surprise moments and laughs when a piece gets sent back, Sorry! remains a hit at family gatherings and friend get‑togethers, especially when the group includes kids or players who love a good "take‑that" moment.
