About the game

What you do in a play session

In a distant future, humanity seeks to rebuild its civilization after the loss of its homeworld, swallowed by the mysterious Wormwood. In *Sovereign: Fall of Wormwood*, you take control of one of ten emerging factions, each with its own ideology and a pre-built 50-card deck, ready for combat and empire-building. The goal is simple yet challenging: accumulate ten 'Echoes', remnants of the ark that brought humanity to this new Eden. But beware, these Echoes are valuable and vulnerable, and can be stolen by your opponents!

You'll manage civilians and military units, building unique facilities for your faction to protect your Echoes or launching attacks, trying to guess where opponents are hiding theirs. The game is super clever in its card usage: the backs of the cards are used to track construction progress without revealing what's underneath. Double-sided citizen tokens also add a strategic layer, transforming from builders into workers or soldiers, depending on your needs. *Sovereign* shines in 3-4 player games, encouraging temporary alliances and unexpected betrayals with cards that can both help and hinder. It's a dynamic blend of hand management, variable player powers, and bluffing, with over 300 unique cards, ensuring each game is a new saga of civilization's rise and fall in under two hours.
