About the game
What you do in a play session
Released in 2021, Sovereign Slayer Solitaire brings the charm of a single-page adventure to a solo player, pitting them against four legendary kings. Built around the Carta SRD series—a collection of games sharing a common 54-card deck—this title requires just a standard deck (including the two jokers), a 20-sided die, a red pawn and a black pawn. The board is a randomly generated 5-by-6 grid, all face-down at the start.
The goal is to move your pawn across the board, uncovering cards that guard the four kings. Each card carries a value that represents the difficulty of the encounter; you roll the die and compare the result to the card’s value. A roll equal to or higher lets you defeat the card, earning “luck” or “equipment” that boost your chances in future battles. A failure costs you a health point. The game ends when you eliminate all kings or when your health drops to zero. The blend of strategy and luck ensures every playthrough feels fresh, and the limited deck adds an extra layer of tension.
Although designed for solo play, the game offers a rich narrative and decision‑making experience. Its minimalist design and simple components mean you can play anywhere, as long as you have the deck and die handy. The Carta SRD series guarantees that if you enjoy the setting, additional adventures using the same deck are on the way. In short, Sovereign Slayer Solitaire is a blend of strategy, luck, and fantasy that challenges you to protect the kings while keeping your health intact.
