About the game
What you do in a play session
If you've already mastered Dice Duel and want to take space chaos to the next level, Die Fighter is the expansion you've been waiting for. The main highlight is the introduction of Fighters: lightweight ships that are incredibly fast and maneuverable, but with a critical flaw — they lack shields. This means that while they can outmaneuver enemies, a single mistake can be fatal, leading to quick explosions.
This expansion doesn't just add pieces; it introduces three completely different ways to play. First, there's 'Carrier Strike', perfect for larger groups (6 to 10 players), where each team controls one massive Capital Ship and one fighter to create mayhem. Then, we have 'Fighter Assault', a tactical scenario for 4 to 6 players where two fighters attempt to take down a single, heavily armed Capital Ship. For those playing with just one friend, 'Fighter Duel' turns the experience into an intense and fast-paced 1v1 battle.
But the fun doesn't stop at movement. Die Fighter introduces Experimental Equipment cards. Through a draft mechanism, each side selects two upgrades to customize their Capital Ship. With 27 cards featuring everything from new weaponry and system enhancements to new movement options, players must adapt their strategy based on the chosen upgrades. This creates dynamic matches where no two games feel the same. It's the perfect blend of quick planning, dice luck, and the adrenaline of seeing an enemy ship turn into stardust.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
Do I need the base game to play?
Yes! This is an expansion, so you'll need Space Cadets: Dice Duel to use these components and rules.
How many people can play with this expansion?
It depends on the mode! It ranges from intense 2-player duels to the Carrier Strike mode which supports 6 to 10 players.
What are the Experimental Equipment cards?
They are upgrades chosen via draft to give unique abilities and new weapons to the Capital Ships.
Are fighters better than Capital Ships?
They are faster and more maneuverable, but they are 'glass cannons': they have no shields and are destroyed much more easily.
Is the game complex to learn?
If you already know Dice Duel, it's very straightforward. The weight is low (2/5), focusing more on action and luck than dense rules.
