About the game

What you do in a play session

Introducing Mizu Kage, a special operative from the Shogunate ready for action in Tannhäuser! Officially an "international liaison," in practice she prefers to settle things with her sai blades, Willow and Winding Stream. This warrior has saved "the Daimyo" more than once and dealt with Reich soldiers who thought they could betray the alliance. Now, her mission is to obtain information that the Shogunate's allies are withholding. Mizu is a master of moving unseen, like a whisper of wind through the night, and can choose between a bloody path or a silent infiltration. She can team up with Reich forces, following the Nippon Accords, or form a squad solely with other Shogunate characters. With her sai, shuriken, and happo, she brings a touch of espionage and direct combat to your Tannhäuser game, adding another tactical layer and unique characters for those who enjoy games with varied powers and a bit of dice-rolling luck. It's an expansion that boosts the base game, bringing more options and depth for fans of the series who enjoy war themes with a touch of historical fiction.

6 questions
Do I need the base Tannhäuser game to play with Mizu Kage?
Yes, absolutely! Mizu Kage is an expansion, so you need to own the base game Tannhäuser to use her.
How many players does this expansion support?
The expansion itself doesn't change the player count, so it still supports 2 to 10 players, just like the base game.
Does Mizu Kage add a lot of new rules?
She adds a new character with her own abilities and perhaps some specific cards, but it doesn't drastically change the overall game rules.
What makes Mizu Kage special compared to other characters?
She focuses on espionage and close-quarters combat with her sai, along with abilities that allow for mobility and stealth, offering a different playstyle.
Is she difficult to learn?
The complexity is low to moderate. If you already know the basic rules of Tannhäuser, learning to play with Mizu Kage is quite straightforward.
Is translation needed to play?
Yes, the source text mentions "Moderate Language Dependency, requires a translated spreadsheet or translated cards." Access to translations is recommended.
