About the game
Beta Team is the newest expansion for The Others: 7 Sins, released in 2016 and already winning fans of horror and strategy. If you've already chased the sins through the city of Old Town, you'll love the new hero squad that brings even more tension and combat options. The box comes with five unique characters – Freder, Elle, Kanga, Polly, and Will – each with powers that shift the flow of the game thanks to the Variable Player Powers mechanic. Additionally, there are 12 upgrade cards that let you customize heroes over the course of the game, three hero dice that add randomness to battles, and five Old Town tiles that change the board layout, reinforcing the modular board concept.

The corrupted mini‑souls – six police and six firefighters – appear as miniatures in three different sculpt variations, each with its own acolyte board, creating unique combat scenarios. The Area Majority/Influence mechanic remains at the heart of the game: players compete to control zones of the board and gain advantages, while dice rolling decides who moves forward or back each round. The expansion does not replace the base game but expands the universe, offering new stories and challenges for 2 to 5 players, with a playtime of 90 to 120 minutes.

For those who already know the dark atmosphere of The Others, the beta team adds depth and replayability while keeping the same horror tension. If you enjoy games that require both strategy and luck, and that let you explore different play styles, this expansion is a must. And remember: while the expansion is standalone, it perfectly complements the original game, so you can play with just the expansion if you want to try something new.

In short, Beta Team is a supplement that adds new characters, miniatures, tiles, and cards, all in a package that keeps the balance and fun of the base game while offering even more thematic content and engaging mechanics.
