About the game
Get ready to embark on two new railway adventures with Ticket to Ride Map Collection 5: United Kingdom & Pennsylvania! This expansion brings a double-sided game board, adding extra spice to your Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride: Europe games. On one side, you explore the British Isles, and on the other, the state of Pennsylvania in the USA, each with its own rule twists that will make you think differently. In Pennsylvania, the big novelty is the introduction of a stock mechanism. Whenever you complete a route, you can claim a share of one of the railway companies associated with that route. At the end of the game, whoever holds the majority of shares in a company earns bonus points, turning the race for routes into a battle for stock control! On the United Kingdom map, the innovation is the technology tree. Initially, your options are limited: only short routes and only in England. But by spending your wild cards, you can unlock technologies that allow you to build longer routes, cross water with ferries, and expand your network into Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. You can also buy bonus cards that give you extra points for certain actions. Oh, and an important note from the designer himself, Alan R. Moon: the Advanced Technology Cards on the UK map were included as a bonus and were not extensively playtested. He recommends using them only after a few games to avoid overcomplicating the first experience. Although officially an expansion for the mentioned base games, with a bit of creativity and spare trains, it's possible to adapt it for play with Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries, albeit limited to three players.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to play Ticket to Ride Map Collection 5?
You need a copy of the base game Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride: Europe to play this expansion, as it utilizes the trains and train car cards from those games.
How many players can participate?
This expansion supports 2 to 5 players, just like the base games it was designed for.
What is the average game duration?
A game typically lasts between 30 and 75 minutes, depending on the number of players and familiarity with the new rules.
Are the rules very different from the base game?
Yes, each map introduces significant new mechanics. The Pennsylvania map adds a stock holding system, while the UK map features a technology tree and progressive building rules.
Is this a complex expansion?
It adds a greater level of complexity and strategy than the base game. The UK map, in particular, with its technologies, might require a few plays to fully master. The designer recommends not using the advanced technology rules on your first play.
Can I use this expansion with Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries?
Technically, yes, but with some adaptations. Nordic Countries is for 2-3 players and has a limited number of trains. You'll need to use spare trains and limit yourself to 3 players.
