The world of Aughmoore is in ruins. The darkness was not contained and has now spread across every region, shattering villages and infecting all forms of life. In this dire state, the world desperately needs heroes willing to risk everything to preserve the remaining spirit of the land. Tiny Epic Defenders: The Dark War expands the original experience, adding significant depth to the fight against the encroaching void.
The centerpiece of this expansion is the new Campaign Mode. Rather than a single fight against an Epic Foe, players now face a gauntlet of Enemy Generals. This evolving challenge means that the choices you make in one session directly influence the threats and abilities available in the next, creating a personalized narrative arc. New heroes join the fray, such as the Lionkin Charioteer and the Birdfolk Shadow Walker, bringing fresh tactical options to the team. Furthermore, a new Experience Point system allows heroes to learn and activate specialized skills based on their performance and decision-making during play.
Adding to the tension are the Caravans—displaced villagers scattered across the map. Players must rescue these caravans and escort them safely to the Capital City, adding a layer of protection and logistics to the combat. The expansion also introduces Advanced Regions featuring 3D constructs, such as giant trees for cover or rideable Manticores. These regions feature a dual nature: a dark, harmful side and a light, helpful side. As the campaign progresses, players must work to restore these lands to their light side to gain critical advantages. This expansion effectively turns a tactical skirmish game into a sprawling epic saga, maintaining the Tiny Epic signature of 'big game, small box' while delivering a rich, evolving cooperative experience.
