About the game
In Troyes, you're whisked away to the famous city in the Champagne region of France, reliving four centuries of its rich history. Each player takes control of a segment of the population, represented by a set of colored dice, and manages cards symbolizing the city's three pillars: the clergy, the military, and the civil. The clever twist here is that you can even 'hire out' the labor of your opponents' dice, for a fee, of course, all in pursuit of more prestige and fame for your family. After all, who wouldn't want a little extra work for their subordinates, whether it's constructing the majestic cathedral, combating misfortunes plaguing the city, or undertaking other tasks that, let's face it, are a bit beneath your nobility? The game is a treat for those who enjoy solid dice management, where each color serves a different purpose, and the strategy of how to use them (or how to prevent your opponents from using them!) is crucial. You'll need to balance your resources, plan your moves, and always keep an eye on the opportunities that arise on the board. Newer editions of Troyes, released from 2016 onwards, already include rules for the solo mode and four bonus cards that were previously promotional items, further expanding the game's possibilities. If you have an older version, it's focused on 2 to 4 players. Prepare for tough decisions and plenty of interaction as you strive to leave your mark on the history of Troyes!
