In Tsukiji you play as a restaurant owner in 1930s Tokyo, racing to secure the finest fish and seafood for your menu. Each round opens with an open auction where fish lots are offered; players place simultaneous bids, trying to predict price swings. Beyond bidding, there is an active market where you can buy or sell commodities at any time, manipulating quotes to lure or deter rivals. The product cards you acquire form your merchandise set; at game end they are converted into cash, and the player with the most profit wins. The game blends auction, commodity speculation, open drafting, and set collection mechanics into quick 20‑30 minute sessions. Simultaneous action selection adds tension, as no one knows exactly what the opponent will do until the reveal. With simple components – fish cards, money tokens, and a market board – Tsukiji offers a deep economic experience without feeling heavy, perfect for fans of negotiation and light strategy. The learning curve is gentle, but mastering price logic and knowing when to sabotage opponents demands focus. It’s an ideal fit for 2‑4 players who enjoy competing for scarce resources while savoring a well‑themed culinary setting.
