About the game
What you do in a play session
Get your pockets ready, because in TRÖK, the race for gold is real! If you love fast-paced card games where every decision in your hand can shift the game's momentum, you've just found a new favorite. The goal is simple but requires cunning: reach 50 Aare or, if you're feeling ambitious, pull off the 'perfect combination'—collecting all different equipment pieces plus an Arcane Stone. Sounds easy, right? Just wait until you hit the trading phase!
The gameplay is engaging and unfolds in four key moments. First, the supply phase, where you grab your equipment cards (and can even boost this with upgrades). Then, we hit the trading phase, the heart of the game. Here, your card values determine the trade master, and interaction is direct: you take a card from someone, they take one from another, creating a chain of resource movement that keeps everyone on their toes. You can't afford to zone out!
After trading, it's time to build your combos. You can focus on matching identical cards to stack up Aare, or aim for sets of different cards to unlock upgrades that boost your efficiency. At the end of your turn, you clear your hand and reap the rewards of your strategy. It's a quick-fire game, perfect for a 40-minute session, but it demands you know exactly when to swap one item for another to stay ahead of the pack. It's pure strategy, constant interaction, and plenty of card variety to manage!
