About the game

What you do in a play session

Long ago your ancestors raised great cities across the world. Now your tribe must trek through forests, deserts, islands, mountains and caves to uncover those lost ruins. Each player commands a band of Delvers represented by five dice – three d6, one d4 and one d8 – and tries to claim the remnants of ancient civilizations. The turn sequence is straightforward: roll your dice, decide where to place them, and depending on the value either claim a Ruin (high rolls) or gather Stones (low rolls). These two avenues create distinct paths to victory: assemble sets of Ruins or spend Stones to build Wonders that grant powerful late‑game abilities. Delver cards let you tweak dice results, either boosting rolls or altering dice already on the board, while Wonders provide effects that can swing the game at critical moments. The core mechanic – dice rolling plus strategic placement – is elegant and easy to pick up, yet still offers meaningful choices, especially when you try to block an opponent (kill‑steal) or complete a valuable set. In under an hour, for 2‑4 players, Unearth delivers a light‑weight exploration experience with plenty of replay value thanks to card combos and varied terrain. The Art Nouveau artwork adds charm, and the polyhedral dice give a nice tactile feel. Perfect for fans of set collection, exploration and a dash of controlled luck.
