In Vanuatu, you take on the role of a local inhabitant trying to prosper over eight intense turns. To do so, you'll need to master managing natural resources, valuable items, the local currency (vatus), and attracting tourists. Money can come in various forms: trading with foreign countries, transporting tourists between islands, or even through the famous sand drawings, a local cultural tradition. Each round, the archipelago expands, and you'll have to plan your actions very carefully using five action tokens. The catch is that you can only perform an action if you have the majority of tokens on that space. This means you'll sometimes have to wait for other players to move their tokens to do what you planned, or even lose the chance to perform an action if you can't secure the majority. A good strategy involves not only optimizing your moves but also blocking opponents, preventing them from selling fish they haven't caught yet, for example – the order of actions is crucial! Resources are scarce, so being quick is essential. And beware: in Vanuatu, being rich is temporary! Upon accumulating ten vatus, they automatically convert into prosperity points, leaving you poor again. But don't despair; ten special men can help you along the way, each offering a unique bonus to your actions. Being the first player of the round gives you the advantage of choosing before everyone else. Vanuatu is a strategy game that blends planning, majority contests, and a lot of interaction, perfect for those who enjoy blocking and being blocked!
