Preparation (Setup)

The Vinhos Deluxe Connoisseur Pack expansion can be used with both the 2010 Reserve and Special Vintage 2016 editions. For setup, place all the new tiles (Double-sized Vineyard, Double-sized Winery, Double-sized Cellar) next to the board. Ocean tiles are used to cover Wine Regions that are not in play, providing an aesthetic solution for gameplay and board appearance. The Phylloxerae Vintage tile should be shuffled into the deck of Vintage tiles.

Flow of the Game

If the Phylloxerae Vintage tile comes out, there will be no production at all in that year. Players may still send wine to the fair if they have any. During that year, Magnates accept wine of any color, value, or region. If you don’t have any Wine, you cannot issue a press release, which could mean that you fail to attend the fair altogether!

Actions and How to Play

Double-sized Vineyard (latifundium)

• To buy it, simply take the Vineyards action. It costs 6 bagos.
• When you buy it, place one Renown cube in the region associated with the Vineyard.
• This vineyard occupies 2 spaces of the Estate.
• Each player can only have one double-sized Vineyard.
• It can only be placed on an estate with an existing Vineyard (which means the estate will have no winery).
• This Vineyard gives +3 Wine Quality during production, but can host only one Farmer.

Double-sized Winery

• To buy it, simply take the Wineries action. It costs 5 Bagos.
• Place one Renown cube in the region associated with the Winery.
• This winery occupies 2 spaces of the Estate.
• Each player can only have one double-sized Winery.
• This Winery gives +2 Wine Quality during production, but can host only one Enologist.

Double-sized Cellar

• To buy it, simply take the Cellars action. It costs 4 coins.
• When you buy it, place one Renown cube in the region associated with the Cellar.
• Each player can only have one double-sized Cellar.
• This special cellar increases the wine value +2,+2,+4 +6 instead of +1,+1,+3,+5.
• This is your super-secret double cellar. Tourists are not allowed to visit it!

End of Game and Scoring

Each double-wide tile (Double-sized Vineyard, Double-sized Winery, Double-sized Cellar) counts as one tile for scoring purposes, but can be used to complete an Estate with only two tiles.

Tips for Winning

• The Phylloxerae Vintage tile is only advisable for experienced players.
• If the Phylloxerae Vintage tile is in play, be prepared for a year with no production. However, Magnates will accept wine of any color, value, or region, so having existing wine can still allow you to participate in the fair.
