About the game
What you do in a play session
Whirling Witchcraft is a quick card‑and‑3D‑piece game that puts you in the shoes of a witch in a bubbling kitchen. Each match starts with four recipe cards in hand and a small assortment of ingredients spread across the board. There are five ingredient types – herbs, roots, fungi, magical dust, and liquids – and each player can only hold a limited number of each type on their workbench. The goal is to pour enough ingredients into your opponent’s cauldron that they can’t fit them, forcing them to return the excess to you. Whoever manages to collect five ingredients in their witch’s circle wins. During the action phase, everyone picks a recipe card simultaneously and then reveals it. The chosen card dictates a set of transformations you can use on your bench – for example, turning a mushroom into a mandrake or combining two mandrakes to create three mushrooms. You may use any number of cards in play, but each can only be applied once per round. When you’re done, you place all the final ingredients into the cauldron and pass it to the player on your right. If they don’t have enough space, they must return the extra ingredients to your witch’s circle. If you already have five ingredients in the circle, the game ends and you’re the grand witch champion. Whirling Witchcraft also offers personality cards that grant each player a unique power, such as doubling the number of ingredients on a bench or swapping recipe cards between players. Some recipe cards can be played in either direction, letting you choose the most advantageous transformation. Arcana symbols on the cards give bonuses when you collect a certain number of them, adding another layer of strategy. The game combines speed, strategy, and a splash of humor, as each round can finish in a heartbeat if someone overflows the opponent’s cauldron. It’s perfect for fans of simultaneous‑action mechanics, direct player interaction, and a fun, colorful witch‑theme.
