About the game

What you do in a play session

If you love unraveling mysteries and enjoy a good mental challenge, Zendo Cards is for you! This expansion brings 60 cards that enhance the experience of the base Zendo game, which is already a treat for those who enjoy inductive logic. Think of it as an extra toolkit for the Master to create increasingly creative rules and for the Students to test their hypotheses and reasoning.

Zendo, overall, is that game where one player (the Master) creates a secret rule, like 'blue pyramids must be on top of red ones' or 'no pyramid can touch another of the same color'. The other players (the Students) build small structures with the pyramids and try to guess the rule. Each construction attempt and the Master's response (whether the construction follows the rule or not) provide valuable clues. The Zendo Cards bring revised and expanded rules, adapted for the Looney Pyramids universe, making the game even more dynamic.

To play, you'll need the base Zendo game (or at least the core rules), a set of Looney Pyramids in 3 or 4 different colors, tokens or stones in 3 distinct colors to mark points or indicate something, and two small clips (like paper clips or bobby pins). Communication between players might be a point to consider, as the original rules might have language dependency, but with a little organization, this is easily resolved. Get ready for hours of deductive fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

7 questions
Is Zendo Cards a complete game, or do I need something else?
Zendo Cards is an expansion, so you'll need the base Zendo game (or at least the core rules and components like the Looney Pyramids) to play.
How many players can participate?
The base Zendo game supports 3 to 6 players, and this expansion maintains that player count.
How long does a game take?
Zendo games typically take around 60 minutes, depending on the complexity of the rule created by the Master and how quickly the Students can deduce it.
What components do I need besides the expansion cards?
You'll need a set of Looney Pyramids (3-4 colors), tokens or stones (3 colors), and two small clips (like paper clips).
Is the game difficult to learn?
The core deduction mechanic is intuitive, but the rules might require some attention. Complexity increases with the rules created by the Master.
Who is this game best suited for?
It's ideal for those who enjoy logic games, deduction, puzzles, and mental challenges, especially if they already like the Looney Pyramids game line.
Is there any language dependency?
The expansion cards themselves are not very text-heavy, but the base game rules and player communication might have language dependency. It's recommended to have translated rules or a player who can assist.
