About the game

What you do in a play session

Hey space cadets! Get ready for a cosmic adventure in 12 Steps to Jupiter, where a mysterious signal from the gas giant has thrown Earth's communications into chaos. In response, nations have united for a joint space expedition, and you're part of this crucial mission! This is a strategic card game for 2 to 4 players, with quick 15-30 minute games, perfect for that weekend dose of strategy.

The dynamic is simple, but the depth is out of this world: each turn, you play a single card from your hand, but its value determines which action you can take. Will you use a high number to move your rocket quickly or save it for a more subtle effect? The trick is to read your opponents and predict the board state, turning each round into a true battle of wits. But the icing on the cake is the card orientation mechanic: they slide around the board without ever changing their physical orientation! Depending on their position around the observatories, the inward-facing edge changes, altering scores and effects. Cross a specific boundary and boom! Cards flip for massive scoring opportunities. It's a geometric puzzle that will delightfully fry your brain.

And there's more! By building rockets and meeting certain criteria, you can power up your observatory to its 'Gold' side. This shifts available actions and area effects, dynamically accelerating game tempo and broadening strategic depth. Whether aiming for a dramatic comeback or steady scoring, every match of 12 Steps to Jupiter creates its own unique narrative. With just 12 cards in hand, do you have what it takes to guide your expedition all the way to Jupiter and unravel the mystery?
