About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready to dive into the golden age of comics with Age of Comics: The Golden Years! In this worker placement game, you take on the role of a visionary publisher, running your own comic book company between 1938 and 1954. The goal? Amass the most fans, profit from selling comics, and build the most coveted portfolio in the market. Each round, you and your rivals will place your editors on six crucial tasks: hiring talent, developing ideas, printing new issues, managing sales, and handling royalties. To launch a new comic, you'll need to spend money, gather two identical idea tokens, and have writer and artist cards ready – the comic's value will be the sum of their talents. The game unfolds over five intense rounds, where a fan chart closely tracks who's winning over the audience. Your ranking on this chart earns victory points each round, and at the end, your accumulated fans are converted into more points. Whoever scores the most victory points after five rounds claims the glory! It's a game that demands planning, hand management, and a keen eye for identifying the right talent to propel your publishing house to comic book stardom.
