About the game
Grab your barista apron, because Algebrew is about to test your ability to create the perfect blend! In this ultra-fast card game, you step into the role of an experimental barista aiming to create the cafe's signature blend. The goal is simple yet requires a keen eye: you need to make the sum of your ingredient cards exactly equal to the target number revealed for the round. But don't think it's just basic math! The game introduces a layer of mystery with 'Habit' cards, which stay hidden in front of you, adding to your ingredient total without anyone knowing the exact value.

The setup is minimalist, perfect for those who want to jump straight into the action. On each turn, you have one or two actions to choose from three strategic options: 'Pour' (to draw a card from the deck or from an opponent who already has enough ingredients), 'Spill' (to discard a card and potentially change the target flavor), or the decisive 'Test'. When you test, you reveal your cards to see if you hit the target. If you do, you score a point! If you miss, your opponents give you a crucial hint: is your total above or below the target? This small clue is what separates a master barista from an amateur who just makes a mess. If the deck runs out before someone wins, the player closest to the target (even if it's over or under) takes the point. It's a game of micro-decisions, where memory and deduction work hand-in-hand in matches that last only a few minutes. Perfect for a quick break between games or for those seeking an intense mental challenge without wasting time setting up complex components. With just 18 cards, Algebrew proves you don't need much to have an intense and fun deduction experience.
