About the game

What you do in a play session

In Among Nobles, you step into the role of a family leader in feudal Europe, tasked with building the most powerful and prestigious dynasty. Forget a quiet life, as the path to glory involves strategic marriage alliances, bloody wars, and plenty of political intrigue. Each player starts with an ancestral couple, and the goal is to expand the lineage through births and arranged marriages. But beware, for life is short, and three times during the game, the older generation will give way to the new, forcing you to adapt.

The game revolves around activating your characters and couples. When you activate a family member, you can perform a series of actions available on their row. Couples can be more efficient, as the wife's actions add to the husband's. To increase your influence, you can wage wars, accumulate gold, and expand your family. Nobles of different colors bring distinct advantages: reds are great in combat, blues in piety, yellows in commerce, and greens in intrigue and special abilities. Gold is your asset to buy extra actions, fund lavish wedding feasts, recruit armies, or invest in heirs' education. Armies are crucial for conquering riches and prestige in distant provinces. Prestige is the ultimate measure of your success. Daughters marry off and strengthen other families, but it's the sons who perpetuate your legacy. A successful marriage can secure victory, while a mistake can seal your defeat. Prepare for a family saga full of crucial decisions!
