If you've already mastered the political maneuvering of the West Kingdom, get ready, because the King has decided the city needs a makeover. In Architects of the West Kingdom: Works of Wonder, the goal is ambitious: constructing five glorious monuments to make the capital shine. But don't think it's just about stacking stone and mortar; to land this contract, you'll need influence and, more importantly, a charitable reputation. After all, who doesn't love an architect who helps the needy?
This expansion modifies the main board, adding a new area for Contribution and Consequence Cards, as well as a system to track each player's Influence. The dynamics now include the Princess and the Profiteer, two new characters who move across the board and can provide a boost (or a setback) depending on your choices. Will you try to please the royalty or strike shady deals with the Profiteer to climb the social ladder?
Beyond expanding the multiplayer experience, Works of Wonder solves one of the community's biggest requests: a solo mode. The expansion introduces an entirely new solo system with six unique automated opponents, each with their own personality and playstyle, ensuring you can test your construction strategies even when you're flying solo. It's the perfect addition for those who want to deepen the strategic layer of the base game, adding more decision-making and political interaction while attempting to erect the kingdom's wonders.
