About the game
What you do in a play session
In Ascension: Valley of the Ancients, you dive into a fantasy universe where deck-building is the key to success. Much like other games in the Ascension line, the idea is to start with an initial set of cards and, each round, use the Runes they generate to acquire more powerful cards. The main goal is to accumulate the most Honor Points, whether by adding valuable cards to your deck or by defeating fearsome monsters that appear along the way. With each purchase, your deck grows stronger, allowing for increasingly impactful plays. But Valley of the Ancients adds an extra layer: the struggle for control of ancient temples. There are three crucial temples – the Temple of Life, the Temple of Death, and the coveted Temple of Immortality. The race is on to collect Keystones, which are essential for claiming these temples or, even better, stealing them from your opponents. This strategic layer adds a dynamic of direct interaction and fierce competition, where it's not enough to have the best deck, but also to dominate the power points on the board. Get ready to adapt your strategy every turn, as the game board is always changing and the possession of the temples can turn the game around at any moment!
