About the game

What you do in a play session

If you're a fan of Ubisoft's franchise, get ready to dive into the streets of Constantinople with Assassin's Creed: Arena. Here, you aren't just a spectator; you are an assassin competing to find and eliminate the city's most valuable targets, all while trying to avoid guards — and your own rivals! The game is a true cat-and-mouse chase where every decision matters. At the start of each turn, Event cards can shake things up: new targets appear, guards shift positions, or secret tunnels are revealed.

The core hook is resource management. Your cards don't just facilitate actions like moving or attacking; they are literally your life force. If you spend everything at once to secure an epic assassination and run out of cards, you 'die' and must respawn at your starting area, losing precious time. It's a constant balancing act between risking it all for treasure or hiding in the city's outskirts to replenish your hand.

Combat is handled through strategic card play, which removes the need for constant dice rolling (though a die helps with guard movement). You can even use the guards to your advantage, moving them toward your opponents to sabotage their plans! It's a high-tension game where positioning and timing are everything. If you enjoy fast-paced games with strong themes that require you to think one step ahead, this arena is for you. Just be careful not to end up on someone else's hit list!
