In Aton, you and a friend step into the roles of powerful figures in Ancient Egypt amidst a religious upheaval! Pharaoh Akhnaton has decided it's time to retire the old god Amon and welcome the mighty Aton. However, the priests aren't willing to give up their temples easily, turning the four most important temples into a fiercely contested battleground. You two, as adversaries, will fight this divine war on the board. Both players start in the same position, with identical resources, but the main challenge is: who will utilize their cards and abilities more shrewdly to secure their god's victory?
The game is a strategic duel where simultaneous action selection forces you to consider not only your own moves but also your opponent's potential plans. Hand management is crucial, as each card represents a valuable action or resource. Furthermore, each player possesses a unique, once-per-game ability – deploy it at the opportune moment to turn the tide in your favor! The struggle for area majority and influence within the temples is the core of the game, demanding careful planning and foresight. With quick playtime, Aton is an excellent choice for those who enjoy tactical, direct confrontation with a touch of Egyptian mythology.
