Ever felt the tension of trying to seal every exit before someone slips away? Bandida brings exactly that in a compact and addictive format. In this game, you and your friends team up in a cooperative challenge to deal with a prisoner digging tunnels to escape. The game is essentially a dynamic puzzle: you play cards to modify the underground labyrinth, attempting to block the exits or, depending on the mode, helping the fugitive find her freedom.
The real charm of Bandida is its versatility. It doesn't just offer the classic 'cops and robbers' experience. The game features three different ways to play: in the traditional mode, you try to capture Bandida; in another mode, you switch sides and help the prisoner escape; and for those who already own 'Bandido' (the prequel), there is the 'Lovers' Escape' mode. In this special mode, the challenge doubles as you must create routes for the fugitive couple to escape together, adding an extra layer of adrenaline and planning.
Matches are incredibly short, perfect for a work break, a trip, or for introducing board games to someone who has never played before. The rules are explained in seconds, but execution requires coordination and spatial reasoning. Additionally, the appearance of special items during the game can completely change the course of the match, bringing surprises that can either save the day or complicate the situation further. It's the kind of 'filler' game that fits in your pocket but sparks genuine strategic discussions about which card to play to avoid opening an unwanted path.
