About the game
What you do in a play session
Prepare to enter the wild world of Barbaria, where you and your friends transform into barbarian warriors in search of epic adventures and legendary battles! The mission is clear: face terrifying monsters, treacherous warlocks, hunt for glittering treasures, and collect ancient runes to secure victory. The creator, Peter Rustemeyer, an archaeologist with a childhood passion for all things barbarian, not only devised the rules but also gifted the game with personality-filled watercolor illustrations that will spark laughter and discussion during gameplay.
The rules are super simple, you can learn them in about five minutes. The gameplay revolves around rolling dice of specific colors to defeat your opponents. But what if luck isn't on your side? No panic! You can use trophies won in previous battles to get another chance to roll the dice or adjust the result. Ran out of trophies? Perhaps a friendly negotiation with your tribal mates will work. If none of that pans out, well, prepare for the consequences – after all, every scar tells a tale of bravery, right? Barbaria combines deck/bag/pool building, dice rolling, and a touch of 'push your luck', all wrapped up in a quick and fun package, ideal for those who enjoy a game with an adventure and fantasy theme, but without the complexity.
