About the game
Ever thought about turning your small home-brew hobby into an industrial empire? In Beer Pioneers, you travel back to 1850s Germany, right in the heart of the Industrial Revolution, taking on the role of an ambitious brewmaster. The game is an economic simulation where the goal is to grow, innovate, and, of course, deliver the finest beers to the market to secure victory.

The gameplay revolves around worker placement, but with a twist: you have different types of workers and even a truck, each with specific roles. You'll need to carefully manage who goes where, whether it's to brew new varieties of beer, upgrade your infrastructure with filters and refrigeration machines, or boost your staff's efficiency. Your player tableau is where the magic happens, but the competition on the main board is fierce, especially since the turn order can be influenced by the players, adding a strategic layer of timing.

Beyond production, action cards are fundamental. They aren't just for giving your production a little nudge; they are the key to making deliveries and scoring victory points. The game doesn't have a fixed number of rounds, which creates constant tension: the match ends when someone reaches 20 victory points, triggering the final round. Whoever has the highest score at the end is crowned the greatest beer pioneer.

Get ready for a medium-heavy game where hand management and process optimization are essential. If you enjoy Eurogames with an industrial theme and love seeing your production engine running at full speed, this game is for you. Just keep in mind that since it has moderate language dependence, you might need translated cards or spreadsheets to ensure you don't miss any detail of the brewing process!
