About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready to return to the kingdom of Longsdale with Expedition to Newdale, an expanded adaptation of the acclaimed card game Oh My Goods!, by master designer Alexander Pfister. Here, you and 1 to 3 friends (ages 12+) will dive into chapters full of economic and production challenges, experiencing a story set five years after the events of Oh My Goods! Escape to Canyon Brook. Don't worry if you haven't played the previous ones, the adventure here is standalone! Each chapter lasts about 90 minutes, totaling around 12 hours of campaign gameplay, and the best part: if a chapter captivates you, you can revisit it anytime. The game begins with your personal board, a coal mine, and five cards in hand. The central board changes with each chapter, dictating the game's rules. Each round, divided into 5 phases, the excitement builds. An event card reveals new elements and the number of available workers. In the next phase, you allocate your action markers, remembering that their order (1 to 4) matters! Then, more workers are drawn from a bag, which can unlock previously impossible productions – here, taking a risk might pay off! Phase 4 is the moment of truth: actions are resolved in the order of the markers. If there weren't enough workers for a production or building, the plan might go down the drain! Planning, a bit of luck, and backup plans are crucial. Finally, in phase 5, you can use a free building action or draw more cards, in addition to resolving automatic productions. Seven rounds in total, and a final score decides your kingdom's fate.
