Industria takes you on a five‑era journey through history, each era introducing new factories, technologies and resources. The core of the game is a rotating‑auction mechanic. In each round, the current auctioneer reveals a set of open cards – production sites, technologies, resources or bonus improvements – and decides the order in which they are offered. The other players, clockwise, may place a single bid or pass. The auctioneer then has two choices: accept the highest bid and collect the money, or take the card for themselves, after which the role of auctioneer passes to the next player. If nobody bids, the auctioneer must buy the card, which can be painful when cash is scarce.

After the bidding phase comes the building phase. Players may place factories, develop technologies and acquire resources, gaining victory points immediately. However, building late – after the next era has begun – yields reduced or no points, making timing critical. Bonus cards grant extra points when combined wisely, encouraging synergistic strategies.

A typical game lasts about an hour and is designed for 3‑4 players who enjoy quick tactical decisions and money management akin to a stock market. The rules are straightforward, but strategic depth emerges from deciding what to bid on, when to bid, and how to allocate resources among your production sites.
