Get ready to power up and expand your electrical grid in Mégawatts, the French version of the acclaimed Power Grid! Here, the competition is fierce to see who can supply the most cities with power. The game begins with pre-defined routes between cities, and the fun comes from the auctions for the power plants that will fuel everything. But beware: by purchasing a plant, you might inadvertently pave the way for competitors to acquire more modern and efficient equipment. Besides managing your finances to snag the best plants, you also need to secure resources—coal, oil, garbage, and uranium—to keep your facilities running (wind and solar farms are the only ones that don't require fuel). It's a constant balancing act between optimizing your production, expanding your network via the cheapest routes, and not running out of cash in the process. The standout feature of this edition is the exclusive Quebec and France maps, which bring fresh challenges. The Quebec map, in particular, gives special emphasis to renewable energy plants, reflecting the importance of hydroelectric power in the region. The basic rules are the same as the original Power Grid, but with adaptations for these new scenarios. Mégawatts offers an intense economic experience, full of strategic decisions and a dash of luck in the auctions, perfect for those who enjoy games with depth and a touch of cutthroat competition.
