About the game
In Blood on the Clocktower, the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff is shaken by a gruesome murder: the local storyteller is found impaled on the clocktower. A demon is on the loose, killing by night and disguising itself among the townsfolk by day. The village divides into Good and Evil teams, aiming to discover and execute the demon before it and its evil minions outnumber the innocent citizens.

One player takes on the role of Storyteller, guiding the action and making crucial decisions, which allows the game to be played without the need for a physical board. During the day, players talk openly, secretly exchange information, or spread lies, culminating in the execution of someone the majority suspects of being evil. At night, everyone closes their eyes, and the Storyteller wakes players one by one to gather information, cause mischief, or commit murders.

What makes Blood on the Clocktower special is that no one is truly eliminated: even if your character is killed, you remain in the game as a ghost, trying to influence the outcome. And if someone arrives late, they can join the game as a Traveler, a powerful character with unique abilities and questionable allegiances. With a vast array of characters, each with a special ability, every game is a unique experience full of twists and turns. Get ready for lots of bluffing, deduction, and negotiation!

Frequently Asked Questions
How many players are needed for Blood on the Clocktower?
The game is designed for 6 to 21 players, but the ideal experience usually starts with about 8-10 players for the bluffing and deduction dynamics to truly shine. One player acts as the Storyteller, so you need at least 5 active players plus the Storyteller.

Games can vary widely, from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the number of players and the complexity of the unfolding story. With a large and engaged group, prepare for a longer, more epic session!
Is it a complex game to learn?
The complexity lies more in the social interaction and interpreting clues than in the rules themselves. The Storyteller plays a crucial role in guiding players, and each character has a unique ability. The first few games might have a learning curve, but the fun is well worth it!
What are the main components of the game?
Blood on the Clocktower is a boardless game. It comes with a deluxe box that doubles as an organizer and a 'Grimoire' for the Storyteller, plus many character, ability, and status tokens. It's all very tactile and immersive, without the need for a large physical space.
Who will enjoy Blood on the Clocktower?
If you're a fan of games like Werewolf, Mafia, or any social deduction game where conversation, bluffing, and reading people are essential, this game is for you! It's perfect for large groups looking for a narrative and interactive experience.
Can I join if I arrive late?
Yes! One of the coolest features of Blood on the Clocktower is the possibility for players to join the game even after it has started, taking on the role of 'Travelers' with special abilities. No one gets left out of the fun!
