About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to build the most sinister and trap-filled dungeon in the land of Arcadia! In Boss Monster: Rise of the Minibosses, you take on the role of a master villain, aiming to lure heroes into your lair and annihilate them before they reach you. Inspired by the nostalgia of classic video games, this card game challenges you to expand your underground kingdom, placing rooms with traps and monsters to ensure no adventurer leaves alive. The new feature here is the 'Minibosses,' which introduce new rooms and strategies to supercharge your dungeon in unexpected ways and, of course, to wreak havoc on your opponents' plans.
Boss Monster 3, as it's also known, works as a standalone set, but if you're already a fan of the series, you can mix it with previous base games and expansions for an even richer and more chaotic experience. The core mechanic revolves around managing your hand of cards to build your dungeon, attract the right (or wrong, depending on your perspective!) heroes, and simultaneously sabotage other players' plans. Prepare for plenty of laughter, some backstabbing, and the satisfaction of seeing your evil empire thrive, even if it means eliminating a few players along the way. It's a fast-paced, straightforward game full of personality, perfect for those who enjoy a bit of cutthroat competition with a humorous twist.
