To overcome Encounters, you'll need specific symbols, which appear on the game's twelve custom dice. The crew divides the dice among themselves, and each player rolls their own, but the magic happens when all rolled dice are pooled together on a common table. From there, the team decides together how to best use these results. If luck isn't on your side and the needed symbols don't appear, don't despair! Portal cards, like those seen in the "Sugarbellies" episode, and each character's unique special abilities can be the key to salvation. There are portals that convert results, others that allow re-rolling dice, and some that even share dice among players. Teamwork is essential!

But beware, the universe isn't an easy place. Failing a challenge can bring calamities to the team, and accumulating five failed Encounters means defeat. Running out of Portal cards or seeing too many warriors get knocked out also leads to loss. Victory comes from accumulating enough Victory Points or overcoming all planned Events. The difficulty can be adjusted, making the game accessible to both newcomers and veterans looking for a lighter or standard challenge.
