The goal is to bring glory to your family, whether through traditional fishing or the art of lacemaking, which can yield significant profits abroad. The game unfolds over four seasons, totaling 14 rounds, where every decision matters. The core gameplay revolves around an ingenious 'cube pyramid' mechanism. Each round, players pay coins to manipulate their personal pyramid, removing colored cubes that trigger actions like fishing, lacemaking, or roofing houses. These actions grant victory points (VPs). Strategic planning is crucial: the color and position of the cubes determine the available actions and their efficiency. Building larger houses, optimizing fish trade, and expanding lace workshops are pathways to accumulating VPs. Whoever accumulates the most points by the end of the game will be the most respected leader of Burano.
