About the game

What you do in a play session

Following the wildly successful Kickstarter that turned Cards Against Humanity into a party staple, the designers dropped the First Expansion, a card pack that cranks the chaos up a notch. The core loop stays the same: one player becomes the Card Czar, reads a black card – either a question or a fill‑in‑the‑blank statement – and the rest pick one of the ten white cards in their hand that they think fits best or is the funniest. The Czar shuffles the answers, reads them aloud, and picks the favorite; the owner of that card earns the black card as an “awesome point.” Once a player has at least one point, they may wager it to play two white cards at once, boosting their odds of being chosen. The round ends with the winner taking the original black card and any black cards that were wagered. Play continues until a predetermined score is hit or everyone is exhausted from laughing. This expansion adds 20 new black cards, 80 new white cards, and 12 blank cards for custom creations. It’s a perfect add‑on for anyone who already owns the base game and wants more material to spark hilarity, without altering any rules. Great for parties, friend gatherings, or any setting where dark, edgy humor is welcome, but note the content is adult‑oriented, featuring strong language and controversial references, so it’s not suitable for under‑18s or very conservative groups.
