The dynamic is simple, but the humor is sharp: one player takes on the role of 'Card Czar' and reveals a black card, which can be a question or a fill-in-the-blank phrase. The other players, each holding ten white answer cards, choose the funniest (or most shocking) one to complete the black card, passing it face down to the Card Czar. The Card Czar then selects the answer they deem most hilarious, awarding an 'Awesome Point' to the player who submitted it. The Card Czar role rotates to the next player, and the fun continues until everyone decides to stop. Whoever has the most Awesome Points at the end wins the game. While the structure might somewhat resemble "Apples to Apples," Cards Against Humanity radically distinguishes itself by its content. It dives headfirst into taboo and politically incorrect subjects like race, religion, gender, poverty, sex, and many others, transforming awkward situations into pure entertainment. Beyond the core gameplay, there are a few twists: some black cards require two answers ('Pick 2'), and there's even a betting option. If a player feels they have two potential winning answers for a black card, they can wager an Awesome Point to play a second answer. If they win, they keep the wagered point; if they lose, the player with the winning answer takes both points.
