Cat Between Us is a light, fun card game designed for kids and families looking for something quick and low‑complexity. The goal is simple: get as close as possible to the cat without passing it. Each round starts with the player who won the previous round drawing a card and placing the cat token on the number on the track that matches the card’s value. The deck is then shuffled and cards are dealt according to each player’s hand size. Play proceeds in turns, with each player playing a card under one of six items on the table; when two cards are under an item, they are summed to give that item’s value. Players then sum the values of the items still in their hand to determine where to place their token on the track. Whoever is closest to the cat without passing it wins the round, and multiple winners are possible. Winners advance on the score track and receive more cards, making subsequent rounds harder. The first to win three rounds wins the game. The combination of hand‑management mechanics and a cute cat theme creates a quick, accessible experience that appeals to everyone.
