It's time to take the island of Catan anywhere with Catan: Portable Edition! This compact version keeps all the excitement of the classic colonization and negotiation game, but with some adaptations to make it easier to transport and play on the go. Forget complex setup; here, roads, settlements, and cities snap right into the board, preventing everything from falling apart with every rough movement. The desert, which is normally in a random hex, now has a fixed spot in the center, as do the production numbers and ports. This means setup is super fast, but it also means each game will have a slightly more predictable layout. It's the same Catan you love, with dice rolling to collect resources, hand management to optimize your cards, and fierce negotiation with other players to get what you need. Perfect for those who want to ensure fun on trips, camping, or simply on a smaller table, without sacrificing the strategic and social experience that made Catan a phenomenon. Get ready to settle, build, and trade wherever you are!

Is this version the same as regular Catan?
The basic rules are the same, but the Portable Edition has snap-fit components, a board with a fixed setup (desert in the middle, numbers and ports in pre-determined locations), and does not support expansions. It's a more practical version for travel.
How many players can participate?
Just like the base Catan, this version is for 3 to 4 players.
Is the game too complicated for beginners?
Catan is considered an entry-level game with relatively simple rules to learn. The portable version makes it even easier due to its pre-defined setup.
Is it easy to set up and pack away?
Yes! The pieces (roads, settlements, cities) snap into the board, making setup and transport much more practical and less prone to disorganization.
Where does the Robber go?
The Robber sits freely on the board, just like in the regular version. You might prefer to use the box itself as a dice tray.
Is it worth it for someone who already owns regular Catan?
If you travel a lot and want the Catan experience without hassle, it's worth it. If you don't mind portability and already have the base game, it might not be essential.
Does the game have text on cards or components?
The text is minimal and easily memorable, making it accessible even for those who are not fluent in the language.
