About the game

What you do in a play session

Hey there, Midgard fans! If you're into Champions of Midgard and love a good polyhedral die, this promo is definitely for you! The Champions of Midgard: Polyhedral Dice Promo Tiles pack brings two super interesting pieces that were originally sold with a limited-edition custom polyhedral dice set. They add an extra flavor to your games, both in military and economic aspects, and are a great choice for those looking to expand the possibilities of the base game. These are two tiles that interact dynamically with the game. First, we have the 'Varangian Guard'. When you select this tile, you roll a die and collect Viking dice based on the result. And the cool part is, if the tile isn't chosen in a round, the die associated with it is replaced by a larger polyhedral die in the next round, increasing potential rewards! The Varangian Guard was a Viking military unit that served as personal bodyguards to the Byzantine Emperors, so the theme is super immersive. The second tile is the 'Taflkast House'. Similar to the Varangian Guard, upon choosing it, you roll a die and collect Glory equal to the result. And, just like the other tile, if the Taflkast House isn't selected, the die is swapped for a larger one in the next round, raising the potential Glory with each ignored turn. Taflkast, for those who don't know, is a Viking dice game, which adds a really nice historical and thematic touch. Both tiles introduce a fun 'push-your-luck' or 'gambling' mechanic, where you can decide to wait for a larger die and a potentially bigger reward, or secure what's available. It's a strategic dilemma that can change the course of your journey in Midgard!
