About the game
What you do in a play session
Charly is a quick, light game for 2 to 6 players, perfect for those who enjoy 20‑minute rounds filled with animal antics. Each player starts with 15 plastic honey drops – the comfort currency for the critters – and receives a mixed deck of animal cards (dogs, monkeys, rabbits, mice and pigs) and favorite‑food cards. The first phase is an open draft: players draw random cards, discard the ones that don’t fit, and draw anew, trying to assemble the best lineup of animals to feed. Then the feeding phase begins. All animals, except pigs, are picky and will only eat their favorite food; if it’s missing, the player must substitute honey. Pigs are the wildcard: they can steal food from opponents, adding tension and sneaky opportunities to swing the game. The cycle repeats until the food deck runs out. When no food remains, the game ends and the player with the most honey drops wins, symbolizing who best balanced the animals’ hunger and the pigs’ cunning. Simple components – colorful cards and plastic honey – give a child‑friendly charm, while the blend of hand management and open drafting provides enough depth to keep casual gamers and families engaged. The learning curve is tiny, making Charly an excellent gateway for kids into strategic board games without overwhelming them. Despite its lightness, keeping an eye on opponents’ food supplies creates tense and laugh‑filled moments, especially when a pig pulls off an unexpected steal. In short, Charly offers fast fun, cute theme, and enough tactical choices to be replayed many times without losing its sparkle.
