About the game
What you do in a play session
Chronicles of Civilization brings the depth of a digital civ game to the tabletop using only paper, pencil and a handful of cards. Each session starts with five core cards and a 12‑card scenario deck that sets objectives, events and win conditions, ensuring no two games feel the same. You command a fledgling nation, juggling eight key domains – food, mining, navigation, religion, science, diplomacy, finance and production – and must keep them in balance to thrive.
Play unfolds on a modular map where you place settlers to found towns, farms, mines and ports. Every building must be linked to your capital by roads, creating a web of dependencies: without roads there is no trade, without resources there is no expansion. Worker Placement drives the engine; sending colonists to forests, quarries or labs yields wood, ore or knowledge, feeding the production chain.
Population happiness and military strength are tracked constantly – ignore either and you can lose even with a booming economy. Chronicle cards act as interchangeable scenarios, introducing missions like "control three territories" or "reach science level X". The game supports 1‑3 players, includes a solid solo mode, and lasts 45‑120 minutes depending on scenario complexity. Though a Print & Play, the experience is deep and demands long‑term planning, making it perfect for fans who want to build empires without a mountain of components.
