About the game
Get ready for a high-level management challenge! In City of the Living (also known as Prosperity), you step into the role of a national leader trying to build a thriving civilization in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies. The real trick here is balance: you need to expand your infrastructure and industry to generate wealth, but you can't forget that a polluted planet is a disaster for your final score. Spanning seven decades, the game requires strategic decisions on where to invest capital and how to advance technological research in energy and ecology.

The gameplay is quite engaging. Each turn, a tile is revealed, and all players feel the immediate impact of its symbols: it could mean money hitting your coffers or pollution rising on your personal board. You can choose to spend your resources to buy new tiles, advance research, or even clean up the mess your industry left behind. But watch out: space on your individual board is limited, and you might need to cover existing tiles to bypass obstacles, sacrificing old benefits in the process. Resource management is constant and time is of the essence, as the game ends when the tiles run out. In the end, whoever has managed to balance economic growth with environmental preservation and technological research will tally the highest prosperity score. It's a strategic abstract game with an urgent and highly relevant theme, perfect for those who enjoy resource management games with a touch of environmental tension!
